Practicing My Free Motion Quilting
I found some how to videos on YouTube on Free Motion quilting and I thought I would give them a try. At least they will help me control my movements better. My movements are somewhat jerky and never seem to match the speed of the needle. I also have trouble maintaining the speed. I find my self slowing down. Not good. But hopefully by following these videos I will get better with the FMQ.
Here’s a pic of what I’ve done so far:
I’ve Been Making Pillowcases!
Who knew making pillow cases would be so much fun! Quick and easy! Great Christmas gift idea! And you can use any combination of colors you find pleasing.
I followed the directions found here:
http://www.allpeoplequilt.com/millionpillowcases/freepatterns/index.html
There are quite a few patterns on that site but my favorite is the Roll It Up pillowcase pattern. I can make a standard size set in about an hour.
So check it out. Make a few sets. Keep them or give them away. It’s a given no one else will have your pillowcases.
