PLAYING AROUND WITH PHOTO EDITING PROGRAMS
I can add words, special effects, edges, frames, make collages, abstracts. In addition an image can be reduced in size or cropped. They can also be enhanced (made to look better), lightened or darkened, changed from color to black and white or sepia, and even made to look like a negative. Then I can print or save the “new” photo. I usually save the new photo with a new name so that my original remains as is for future ideas that may cross my mind.
Some of these programs came with printers, some were free on the web. I know Google has one that is free and I have used it many times. You can download it by going to picasa.com.
So for those of you who have not tried your photo editing program, give it a shot. You may just come up with something you really like.

Hi there!
It’s funny, my sister loves to use photoshop to play with around with her pictures…and does a great job at creating.
But I still use Microsoft Office Picture Manager to just crop and resize my pics…nothing else. Or ArcSoft PhotoImpression (that came with my computer) to add those fuzzy borders and to add text now and again.
Maybe someday I’ll learn Photoshop.
You should try it. See the picture of my son with his Harry Potter scarf, well I didn’t care for the background so I played around with some edges and frames. They helped to obscure the background.
I am still using Adobe Photoshop Elements that came packaged with my camera from 2002. LOL!! I really need to get an updated version. I like how your photos with this article float across the page. How did you do that?
I’m not sure how I did that. I was having a few problems posting the pictures and when they finally posted, they were like that.
